Slow Starts for the League’s Biggest Names

After starting off 0-5 the Lakers finally got their first win against the Nuggets. The 1-5 Lakers look terrible on offense as they continue to struggle with Russell Westbrook and their supporting cast. Will the Lakers even make the playoffs?

Nets finally fired their coach Steve Nash after a 2-5 start (now 2-6). Kevin Durant has been playing great averaging about 30 points per game. Kyrie has been hot and cold as he continues to cause off the court controversy. Ben Simmons has been sidelined with an injury after putting on several terrible performances including fouling out twice. This team is all over the place and now they intend on bringing in former Celtics coach Ime Udoka. A bad start for a dysfunctional team full of talent, will a new coach change anything?

Coming off the heels of an NBA championship, the Warriors look all but like back-to-back contenders. The Warriors 3-5 start looks worse on paper but is still a bit alarming. Steph Curry and newly extended Joran Poole have been offensively consistent while veterans Klay Thompson and Draymond Green look to be in an early slump. Do the Warriors have enough to repeat?

Over in the NFL world, veteran QBs are struggling. Tom Brady’s Bucs fall to 3-5 after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. Brady is starting to decline as the Bucs lose 3 games in a row in which they were favored. Is Father Time finally taking over in Tampa?

The Green Bay Packers get pounced in a 27-17 loss in Buffalo against the Bills. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs look like everything Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were. As Aaron continues to call out his young receivers we have to wonder, is this Rodgers’ last season with Green Bay?
