In due season

Updated: Jan 15

Today I want to express gratitude to everyone reading this blog.. It's been an honor thus far sharing time and space with you all!!

I say that with the truest sentiment, understanding that we were all born and created to share time and space together. Our ancestors had their time, as will the generations that come behind us when we are no more. Their stories will be unique to their experiences, the same way that ours are to us in this present moment.

As much as we like to consider ourselves separate from each other, the reality is we breathe the same air, wake up to the same sun, and sleep under the same moon and stars.

As I awoke this morning to my 46th year of consciousness, the idea of a birthday didn't hold as much weight as it once did. I know some of you will point to the fact that supposedly getting older makes you feel that way, and you may be right, that could be true.. but, I've been thinking and speaking of seasons since at least 2017, and I've got recorded receipts!

Seasons, or this season to me covers more ground about where I'm at or going than a single day does..

The idea of celebrating making another year is cool, again I am most definitely thankful for that blessing.. but, I think I'd prefer celebrating the beginning of a particular season attached to a goal, or even the end of that season, in which I'd completed it.

Of course, we can do both, but imagine celebrating High School every year on the day that you'd started it, it wasn't set up that way!

In fact, every stage of schooling dealt with a certain amount of years, and after that season was done we celebrated and prepared for the next.

As we've gotten grown, I believe too many of us are settling for birthdays, instead of planning and working in our seasons..

Neglecting the upcoming season can be detrimental if you're not mindful..

41:29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

41:30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

41:31 And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous. Genesis
